Sir, I will not take your name
I’ve never understood why women give up their name when they marry. It seems such a sexist thing to agree to. I do agree that the naming of the kids can be a more complicated issue in a two surname family; nobody really likes hyphenated names … do they?
Actually, my dad tried to persuade my Old Mother to take back her maiden name when it became possible. But I agree that Jacob Lassen-Christensen would have been a bit odd. And if my parents had had to use all family names following the Spanish tradition, it would have been Olsen Lassen Mouritsen Christensen.
Impressive, huh?
